SPIRIT OF SANTA FE combines a large painting of the city of Santa Fe under the spell of a mesmerising sunset thunderstorm, a symbolist painting I did as a commission of a Pueblo and Mission Church, along with a photo I took of a soaring Raven.  I am exploring the endurance of universal spiritual awareness, overlooked by spiritual oppression.

Above the city

The Cathedral appears,

Towering over trees

But, it is stone and cannot fly.

Above it, the Raven soars

Plays with the air as a friend,

Teaching us also to soar and

above all else,

to Love.

Love not brought from the Cathedrals of stone

back home by those who came to search for gold.

So, they missed the gold, always there.

Gold with Raven hair, and in their 

songs of old. Gold that gave

The Raven wings and gave the sacred songs,

Which teach the mystery of light,

beauty of life, and above all

to Love.
