New Hope, Spring Sunrise

The shadows caught my attention on an early Spring sunrise on walk with Rocko into a high meadow with South Mountain in the distance. I had to paint it as part of my Literati inspired series combining both image and a poem:
South Mountain, Spring Dawn.
Fingers of light
Consume Winters’ gloom and
Swallow shadows.
Warm my heart
Announce a new Season, a new Day
A new born Hope.
The painting is 24x24x2 Acrylic on Wood Panel and is on display at Cabra Coffee, Cedar Crest NM. All profits go to support East Mountain Food Pantry.

Thank you for sharing this luminous piece, Tom. The way you've captured those reaching shadows and the warmth of spring dawn is truly moving—both in paint and in verse. "Fingers of light / Consume Winter's gloom" resonates deeply. And what a beautiful mission, supporting the food pantry with your art. Wishing you and Rocko many more inspiring meadow walks.
