Whether it is art, vocation or your neighborhood, the excitement is in exploring the possibilities! Recently Lisa and I did a "stay-cation" instead of spending money going somewhere. We slept in a different bedroom, ate out and did day trips to places we had not explored here in New Mexico. We hiked the challenging kitchen mesa trail at Ghost Ranch where Lisa stood on the edge of world and soaked in the view (while I stayed safely back and took the photo ;)). We saw Abiquiu from a whole new perspective! We also did the tram in Albuquerque and had a two mile high burger that was some of the best kobe beef ever! None of this would have happened if we just stayed safe in the routine.
Once my art was up at Collected Works, my gut told me to NOT do more of the same. I did some experimental paintings, first on a small scale, the a larger scale, trying different ways of applying paint and texture. Really weird things, but found some interesting results! I have even sold one of the experiments already (painting below). Point is, explore the new possibilities that are right in front of you and you never know what you might discover next!

Before anything else, I just want to say that I rally appreciate the art you presented above. Some might not appreciate it because of dark colors, but the good thing about this is the fact that you were able to express yourself through it. At the end of the day, it's all that matters! The title speaks volume; we should never be afraid to let of of possibilities that new coming all the way. We may not have it at the end of the day, but learning from it might be good, isn't it?
