Finding Your Own Artistic Voice

I thought, "I have found a unique style and approach, my own "voice" in the artistic chorus."  I got super excited when I completed this recent painting.  After weeks of experimenting, I finally got the look I wanted, refracted and reflected light gives a playful look to this landscape.
But then it set in, that anxiety and internal pressure to repeat this look in my entire body of work so there is that unified look and feel that all successful artists have.  I tried, but the next piece didn't have "it."  After reflecting on the new anxiety I was feeling, I decided to abandon conforming each piece to my idea of "voice" and let each painting speak for itself. As a new practicing artist, it is way too early to start limiting myself to a "look."  I am still looking for what inspires me and motivates me to start and finish each piece.  Over time, I am sure my work will become more "recognizable." But for now, finding my voice needs to be more of a duet between my work and myself.  I need to follow what inspires me.  I need to hear the painting tell me when to stop or go another direction.  Thoughts:
- Don't pressure myself to conform, even to me own plan!
- Listen more, observe more, experiment more with everything I do!
- Let "voice" emerge in natural time, in the flow of life and art.

My latest piece has it's own voice!

Many people are struggling their artistic voice. Because they had suffered a lot, it was sad that they gave up that easy. it is given that finding your artistic voice may score a lot of years and it is a case to case basis. it may require a lot of years for you to finally find it, but what's important is the idea of you finding it. If you are really willing to do it, you must start it right now! Just like what I believe in, it would be better to start everything early!
