A year ago I had never sold a painting. I was just starting to think about finding studio space outside the home. But, internally I was committing to becoming a full time artist. So I took one step in that direction, checking with my painting mentors about the quality of my latest work. Check! Another step, found studio space. Check! Another step, signed up for my first show, the Santa Fe Studio Tour and sold some pieces. Check! Had my first solo show at Collected Works and sold a bunch of work. Check! Dreams don't come true by more and more dreaming. They happen by taking the next step,,,and the next one... and the next one. Staying open to world around and in a positive frame of mind allows us to keep dreaming and keep moving at the same time. Moving to Canyon Road is not actually a dream come true. I never dreamed that it was even possible, right up to point at which I heard there was space available there that might be affordable. My actions created an opportunity that created a "dream come true."
Follow your dreams with steps, or follow your steps to find your dreams. Either way works!
